Digital X-rays
Description: Digital X-ray films of different parts of the
body are obtained. Most commonly these are of the chest,
abdomen, kidney-ureter-bladder (KUB), spine and different
bones and joints.
Machine: GE 500mA high frequency machine which is first of
its kind in north India.
Preparation Instructions: For spine x-rays, it is necessary
to have the bowel clear and so two Dulcolax tablets should
be taken the previous night and the patient should come
fasting
Appointment: Not Required
Time taken: 10-20 minutes
Report Given: Same day if the study is done before 12 noon,
otherwise the next day.
Special Comments: We take all kinds of X-rays
Full Length X- Rays
Description: Digital X-ray films of the whole spine or the
entire lower limbs
Machine: GE 500mA high frequency machine which is first of
its kind in north India.
Preparation Instructions: For spine x-rays, it is necessary
to have the bowel clear and so two Dulcolax tablets should
be taken the previous night and the patient should come
fasting
Appointment: Not Required
Time taken: 10-20 minutes
Report Given: Same day if the study is done before 12 noon,
otherwise the next day.
Special Comments: We are the pioneers in this field.
Barium Studies
(Meal, swallow, follow-through,enema, enteroclysis)
Description: Using barium, an inert substance, different
parts of the gastro-intestinal tract are studied
Machine: GE 500mA high frequency machine which is first of
its kind in north India.
Preparation Instructions: Barium swallow for the esophagus
requires no preparation. Barium meal for the stomach only
needs six hours fasting and abstinence from smoking. Barium
enema, follow-through and enteroclysis need a more detailed
abdominal preparation, which will be explained in detail
when giving the appointment
Appointment: Not required for barium swallow. Must for the
others
Time taken: 10-20 minutes for barium swallow and meal. 1-2
hours for follow-through. 20-45 mins for enteroclysis and
barium enema
Report Given: Same day if the study is done before 12 noon,
otherwise the next day.
Special Comments: We have been the pioneers in developing
the use of enteroclysis for evaluation of the small bowel.
Other Radiology Procedures
(IVU/IVP, MCU, DRU, sialography, fistulography, sinusography,
arthrography)
Description: These required the use of iodinated contrast
media
Machine: GE 500mA high frequency machine which is first of
its kind in north India.
Preparation Instructions: Different procedures need
different preparations, details of which will be given prior
to the procedure
Appointment: Required for virtually all the procedures
Time taken: 10-45 minutes
Report Given: Same day if the study is done before 12 noon,
otherwise the next day.
Special Comments: Virtually all radiology procedures
possible are performed at our place, except for angiography,
venography and lymphangiography.
